To an employer, WINDA has one primary function, which is to look up and verify training records of employees. As an employer, you will therefore have to create a profile in WINDA in order to verify a training status.
All Delegates, who have successfully completed a GWO Training Course, will have a record of that training module uploaded into WINDA by a GWO certified Training Provider. Once you have created a profile as an organisation in WINDA, you can search for training records if the person you are searching for has provided you with their WINDA ID.
You must only register for one profile in WINDA and search for ID's, which the Delegates have provided you. If you in any way abuse WINDA, or GWO suspects malicious intent, your account may be closed without warning and your IP address blocked from WINDA by GWO.
You can view Delegate's training records in WINDA as well as print a copy of them. The printed copy is not valid as a stand-alone certificate.
Any training, which a Delegate has completed prior to October 17, 2016, will not be made available in WINDA and the Delegate must instead present their certificates that were issued by their Training Provider.
The WINDA ID is the Delegates'/employees' unique identification number. All Delegates must provide their WINDA ID prior to leaving the Training Provider after passing a Training Module if they wish to have their training accepted by GWO.
Delegates will have to create a profile in WINDA in order to receive a WINDA ID. The process is automated and instantaneous, and the same WINDA ID will follow the Delegate through their career in the wind industry.
The WINDA ID is a unique, random and system-generated number, which serves as the general Delegate identification. It is therefore important that Delegates always keep their WINDA profile active and up to date.
Only Delegate profiles in WINDA will have a WINDA ID. Other user types of profiles such as organisations will not receive a WINDA ID.
When you have created your account, you can search for up to 100 WINDA ID's in the search field.
If you need to search for large amounts of records, you can choose to do so through an API.
If you want to use the API function, you will have to hold the costs for development yourself. For technical specs to develop your API function, please contact the GWO secretariat at info@globalwindsafety.org.
You need to sign in or register as an organisation at winda.globalwindsafety.org via the “Register” option.
Please make sure that you do not register with your own personal/free email address. Only company adresses will be allowed to register as an organisation in WINDA. Use of email address such as hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc. are not allowed to create an organisation profile.
Once you have submitted your details, you will automatically be sent an e-mail requesting you to set up the account.
You can watch the tutorial for how you register as a Training Provider in WINDA:
If you are not active on your account for 12 months, your account will expire. You will automatically be notified in advance when your account is about to expire. Please log in to your account on a regular basis to avoid expiry. GWO will not be able to reactivate expired accounts.
Please note – you will need to confirm acceptance of Privacy Policy and applicable Terms & Conditions for access and use of WINDA before the account can be fully set up and you are allowed to search for records.
